Eta designed the mechanical,
electrical and plumbing systems for a 170,000 SF apartment building
designed for senior living. Design included all coordination with
local utility companies, local code officials, and state ICC
officials. As part of
its design service, Eta performed building energy consumption
analysis and first cost estimates on several mechanical system
alternatives, and worked with the Developer to select the system
with the lowest life cycle cost.
Eta’s final design provided gas heat for each individual
apartment but did not require individual metering.

Eta designed
the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for 144-unit,
multiple building apartment complex, which included a
Community

Building
. Eta designed the MEP
systems to meet state requirements for public housing funding, while
maintaining the developer’s budget.
Eta performed computer energy analysis of building energy use
during Pre-Design Phase and developed life cycle alternatives of
several mechanical systems, so that the Developer could select the
system that best met his needs.

Mechanical, electrical and plumbing design for 90,000 SF of
apartments designed for senior living. The design included community
kitchen, hairdresser’s shop and maintenance shop.
Eta’s work included responding to numerous state
information requests that were required for the Developer to receive
funding.

Mechanical,
electrical and plumbing design for a 130,000 SF, multi-level
apartment building designed for senior living. The mechanical and
electrical design had to accommodate the challenging architectural
conditions imposed by a structure that worked its way down a sloped
site. The electrical
design provided a unique solution to the problem of unsightly meter
banks.

Eta designed the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for a
new 10-unit apartment building built to provide student housing.
The design included providing a data wiring system that would
afford the Owner total flexibility to provide Internet access to
each resident in all rooms. Eta’s
design also allows the Owner - at minimal cost - to update this data
wiring system as technology and the competitive market dictate.

Eta designed the mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fore alarm
systems for a new 40-building,
150,000 SF apartment development.
Funded by the HOPE 6 program and other public funding
sources, this project provides attractive and sustainably-designed
housing on a limited budget. As
part of its design services Eta performed computer building energy
simulations to forecast the annual gas and electric utility costs
associated with various mechanical system options, to assist the
Developer in putting together the right design package for the
project. Eta‘s design
included a Community Center/Management Building, outdoor pool, and
site lighting around the buildings and parking lots.

The Owner of a 20,000 SF apartment building was confronted with
aging, maintenance-intensive mechanical systems. This
Owner also wanted to build another apartment building on the lot
next door, and - like most people - he had a limited budget to
accomplish all his objectives. After
generating several possibilities and analyzing the first costs and
operating costs of each, Eta’s solution was: in the existing
building, demolish only
the central plant, build a central plant in the new building big
enough to handle both buildings.
The result: a smooth-running, maintenance-friendly set of
buildings, coupled to one efficient central plant.
