State Garage
Eta designed the
metal halide lighting system to replace the aged and insufficient
industrial fluorescent lighting system. The new design was based on
Eta’s up-front life cycle cost analysis of several lighting
alternatives. The new
design used a lighting simulation computer program to ensure that
the new lighting system would provide the lighting levels required
for the various tasks undertaken in the space. Eta field-verified
all existing circuiting and switching, and – to bring the project
in on its construction budget - designed around the existing conduit
and junction box locations to allow reuse of the existing conduit.

Trench Drain Replacement
Eta designed the replacement
of a failing trench drain in a city vehicle repair facility. Eta
replaced the structurally-failing concrete trench drain with a
prefabricated polyester fiberglass (plastic) trench drain capable of
withstanding the harsh environment. Eta subcontracted all concrete
design to a qualified civil/structural firm, and coordinated the
plumbing work with the concrete work to ensure a smooth construction
phase.

Woodyard Nature Preserve
Design of mechanical
electrical power and lighting systems, and plumbing systems for a
office/vehicle repair building, separate vehicle shed, and several
camping areas. Eta’s work included extensive coordination with the
local utility company regarding the extension of power lines and
location of transformers to serve all the areas requiring new power.

HVAC Replacement
Eta designed the replacement
of a outmoded HVAC systems for the engineering offices in the City
Public Works Building. Eta’s
new design provided zoning and increased ventilation effectiveness
for the offices. In
addition, Eta designed carbon monoxide (“CO”) monitoring system
that energizes fans in the vehicle repair level if CO levels exceed
acceptable levels.
