Eta Engineers provides mechanical/electrical/plumbing (MEP) design to architects and building owners. Our services begin during the early stages of preliminary design, often working closely with the owner, architect, and building users to initiate a coordinated design process that leads to efficient, comfortable, and cost effective building systems.

Our philosophy of working closely with the other members of the design team stems from our background in system design on large corporate offices to small homes, from historic national monuments to the local pool hall. Our design services integrate and incorporate MEP systems within the overall building design.

We believe that a building should be comfortable for the occupant, as well as cost effective for the owner. This blending of functions can only be achieved by coordinating MEP retrofits and designs with existing conditions and systems, then following through with services during construction and initial occupation of a building. Although commissioning is not typically provided by the design engineer, we believe that the design firm must take an active partnership in obtaining a properly functioning system.

Recently enacted Illinois state legislation ensures that, in the year 2002, all electric power customers in the state of Illinois will have the right to choose their power supplier; they will no longer be a 'captive customer' of the local utility company. The time to start preparing is now. The way to do this is by ensuring that there exists a means (via the control system or an external data logging system) to record and assemble energy use data into a form that, in future years, will enable the owner to negotiate the most favorable electric rates possible. With a little foresight, an owner will be ready for this drastic change in the way we purchase electric power. Those facility owners who are ready for deregulation will achieve a competitive advantage over those who are not. Eta Engineers' designs address this future deregulated environment by providing the facility owner the means to collect and analyze energy usage information.

Through alliances with other professionals, Eta Engineers provides the services tailored to our client's needs. These partnerships are used as necessary to ensure the client's needs are met.
